Common questions
Is there any downtime?
You'll have some redness and small bumps where the needle went in, which usually peak the same day and settle within 24 to 48 hours. Bruising can happen and lasts a few days. Most people carry on as normal, though you might want to clear your diary for the rest of the day if it's your first time.
Does it hurt?
It's quite manageable — we put numbing cream on first, and the injections use a very fine needle. Most people describe it as a little pressure or a brief prickling sensation rather than anything sharp, and the under-eye area is more sensitive than the rest of the face.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need a course of 2 to 3 sessions, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. If you've got a wedding, holiday or big event coming up, it's worth starting at least 10 to 12 weeks beforehand so everything has time to settle and look its best.
How long do the results last?

Are there any side effects?

Preparing for your appointment
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before — it thins the blood and makes bruising more likely.
- Stop retinol and strong acids 3 days before — they sensitise the skin.
- Come with clean, makeup-free skin if possible.
- Let us know if you're on blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder.
- Avoid booking if you feel a cold sore or skin infection coming on.
After your treatment
- Expect redness, small bumps and possible bruising where the needle went in — this is normal and settles in 24–48 hours.
- No makeup for 12 hours to let the skin breathe.
- Skip the gym, saunas and steam rooms for 24 hours.
- Avoid alcohol for another 24 hours.
- Hold off retinol and strong actives for 5 days.
- Use SPF 50 for at least 2 weeks — your skin will be more sensitive to sun.
Do not book if any of these apply
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have an active skin infection, cold sore or inflammation where you want treatment.
- You have a known allergy to fish or seafood — the polynucleotides come from trout DNA.
- You have a bleeding disorder or take anticoagulant medication.
