- Semi-Permanent Brows
✨ Wake up with perfectly filled-in brows that look like you've already done your makeup.
How it works:
A digital machine with a fine needle gently builds up soft pigment dots across your brows, creating a gradient effect — lighter and misty at the front, gradually darker toward the tail. Think of it as a soft powder makeup look that stays put.
Who it's for:
- Anyone who fills in their brows every day with pencil or powder
- Oily or sensitive skin types where hair strokes tend to blur
- Anyone wanting longer-lasting results than hair-stroke brows
The benefits:
- Defined, filled-in brows from the moment you wake up
- Lasts 2 to 3 years — longer than microblading
- Works beautifully on skin types that don't hold hair strokes well
- No more smudged or faded brow makeup by lunchtime
- Soft, flattering gradient that never looks harsh or blocky
What's included:
- Full consultation to design your ideal brow shape
- Topical numbing cream for comfort throughout
- Machine shading technique with single-use needle
- Pigment selected to match your colouring
What to expect:
- Brows appear dark and defined immediately, then soften over 2 to 4 weeks
- True colour and final result visible from 6 to 8 weeks after your perfection session
- Results last 2 to 3 years before a colour boost is needed
💡 The machine method is gentler on skin than manual techniques, making this the go-to choice for oily or mature skin that needs lasting definition.
Common questions
Is there any downtime?
Your brows will look quite dark and sharply defined for the first 3 to 7 days, then they'll flake and peel between days 5 and 10. Most people carry on as normal — you can work and go out — but you'll want to avoid makeup on the brows for 7 to 10 days and skip swimming, saunas, and heavy
Does it hurt?
It's quite manageable — we apply numbing cream before and during, so most people describe it as a light scratching or vibration feeling rather than anything sharp. The machine method is generally less uncomfortable than manual microblading.
How many sessions will I need?
This is a course of 2 sessions — your first session now, then a perfection session 6 to 8 weeks later to refine the colour and fill any gaps. If you've got a wedding, holiday, or big event coming up, it's worth starting at least 12 weeks beforehand so everything's fully healed and settled in time.
How long do the results last?
You'll see the colour dark immediately, then it settles to its true shade over 2 to 4 weeks. After your perfection session at 6 to 8 weeks, the result peaks and typically lasts 2 to 3 years. How long it holds depends on your skin type, how much sun you get, and your skincare routine.
Are there any side effects?
It's normal to see immediate darkening and some swelling, plus a little tenderness and pinpoint bleeding during the procedure. You'll get scabbing and flaking as it heals, and there's a small risk of infection if aftercare isn't followed. Rarely, someone reacts to the pigment, and occasionally colour heals unevenly — that's exactly what the perfection session is for. Some skin types simply don't hold pigment as well as others.
Before your appointment:
- Avoid brow tinting for 2 weeks — it can interfere with pigment settling
- No waxing or threading for 1 week before — skin needs to be calm
- Stop retinol on the brow area 2 weeks prior — it thins the skin
- No Botox in the forehead for 3 weeks — muscles need to move naturally for mapping
- Skip alcohol and excessive caffeine for 24 hours — they increase bleeding and sensitivity
- Avoid blood thinners like ibuprofen or aspirin for 1 week if medically safe — check with your GP
After your appointment:
- Expect brows to look dark and bold for the first week — this is normal and they fade 30 to 40%
- Let scabs flake naturally — never pick them or pigment comes out permanently
- Keep brows completely dry for 10 days — no water, steam, or sweat on them
- No makeup on the brow area for 2 weeks — infection risk and pigment disturbance
- Avoid swimming, saunas, and heavy gym sessions for 2 weeks — heat and chlorine fade colour
- Apply the healing serum sparingly as directed — a tiny amount goes a long way
Do not book if:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have active eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis in the brow area
- You have a history of keloid scarring
- You have uncontrolled diabetes
- You take blood-thinning medications that cannot be paused
- You have a blood clotting disorder
- You've had chemical peels or laser treatment in the brow area recently
- You have an allergy to lidocaine or topical anaesthetics
- You have had semi-permanent brow work within the last 6 to 8 weeks
How it compares
**Compared with Hairstroke Brows
- How it looks — Ombre Brows (1st Session) builds soft pigment dots for a gradient powder-makeup effect - lighter and misty at the front, darker toward the tail; Hairstroke Brows draws individual hair-like strokes with a hand-held tool for the most natural hair-by-hair look.
- Best for — Ombre Brows (1st Session) suits anyone who fills in their brows daily and wants a defined, filled-in shape that stays put; Hairstroke Brows suits anyone with sparse, over-plucked or patchy brows wanting them to look naturally fuller, especially with normal to dry skin.
- How long it lasts — Ombre Brows (1st Session) typically lasts 2 to 3 years after the perfection session, depending on skin type, sun exposure and skincare routine; Hairstroke Brows typically lasts 12 to 24 months, though oily skin, sun exposure and strong skincare acids can shorten that to 6 to 12 months.
- Suitability for oily skin — Ombre Brows (1st Session) stays crisp in oily skin types; Hairstroke Brows tends to blur and spread in oily skin types.
- Choose ombre if you want defined, filled-in brows that last; choose hairstroke if you want the most natural hair-by-hair look and have normal to dry skin
**Compared with Combination Brows (1st Session)
- The look it creates — Ombre Brows (1st Session) builds soft, misty pigment dots for a powder-makeup finish that's lighter at the front and darker toward the tail; Combination Brows (1st Session) blends fine hair-like strokes at the front with powder shading through the body and tail for a naturally full, defined look.
- How it handles oily skin — Ombre Brows (1st Session) is more reliable on very oily skin because the soft shading stays put where hair strokes might blur; Combination Brows (1st Session) can see the hair stroke portion blur on very oily skin, though the powder shading still holds well.
- How long it lasts — Ombre Brows (1st Session) typically lasts 2 to 3 years after your perfection session, depending on skin type, sun exposure, and skincare routine; Combination Brows (1st Session) typically lasts 12 to 24 months after your colour boost, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure.
- What it feels like — Ombre Brows (1st Session) feels like a light scratching or vibration with numbing cream - generally less uncomfortable than manual microblading; Combination Brows (1st Session) feels like firm scratching or light pressure with numbing cream - slightly more sensation than single-method treatments due to the blend of manual blade and machine work.
- Choose ombre if you want one consistent powder finish or have very oily skin; choose combination if you want natural hair detail at the front with definition at the tail
**Compared with Brows Colour Boost (19-24 Months)
- Best for — Ombre Brows (1st Session) creates new brows from scratch if you have no existing semi-permanent work or need a complete refresh; Brows Colour Boost (19-24 Months) revitalises faded ombre brows you already have, boosting vibrancy for 12 - 18 months.
- Number of sessions — Ombre Brows (1st Session) needs two sessions - this first one now, then a perfection session at 6 to 8 weeks; Brows Colour Boost (19-24 Months) is a single visit for maintenance clients who already have the foundation in place.
- What happens — Ombre Brows (1st Session) uses a digital machine with a fine needle to build soft pigment dots, creating a gradient powder-makeup look; Brows Colour Boost (19-24 Months) applies precision pigment to refresh and enhance depth and definition in your existing faded brows.
- Choose this if you have no existing semi-permanent brows or need a complete refresh; choose colour boost only if you already have ombre or combination brows that have simply faded
