- Semi-Permanent Lips
✨ Bring your lip colour back to life without starting from scratch.
How it works:
Pigment is gently deposited into the lips using a fine needle to rebuild colour density where your original lip blush has faded over time.
Who it's for:
- You had lip blush 1-3 years ago and the colour has softened
- You want to deepen or adjust your existing shade
- You're maintaining results from a previous lip neutralisation
The benefits:
- Restores that fresh, just-blushed colour
- Costs less and takes less time than full re-treatment
- Keeps your shape intact — no redesign needed
- Extends your results another 12-24 months
- Wakes up with colour every day, no lipstick required
What's included:
- Consultation to check your existing colour and goals
- Numbing cream applied for comfort
- Pigment refresh using digital PMU machine
- Barrier film protection post-treatment
- Aftercare balm and written instructions
What to expect:
- Usually one session, with an optional perfecting visit at 6-8 weeks if needed
- Colour looks dark immediately, then flakes and settles
- True colour visible at 4-6 weeks once healing completes
- Results last 12-36 months depending on lifestyle and skin
💡 A smart way to keep your lip blush looking its best without the full investment of starting over.
Common questions
Is there any downtime?
You'll have noticeable healing for 7 to 10 days. The first two days bring swelling and tenderness, then your lips will feel dry and flaky for about a week as the surface settles. The colour can look patchy or too light during this time before the final result appears.
Does it hurt?
It's quite manageable — we apply numbing cream for 20 to 30 minutes first, so most people feel pressure and vibration rather than anything sharp. Lips are sensitive, but the discomfort is brief and well tolerated.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need just one session, with an optional perfecting visit at 6 to 8 weeks if the colour needs adjusting. If you've got a wedding or event coming up, book at least 6 to 8 weeks beforehand so everything has time to settle.
How long do the results last?
You'll see colour immediately, though it will be darker than the final result. The true colour shows through at about 4 to 6 weeks once healing completes, and from there it typically lasts 12 to 36 months depending on your lifestyle and how your skin holds pigment.
Are there any side effects?
You can expect swelling, redness and tenderness straight after, with some pinpoint bleeding where the needle entered. Over the next week your lips will feel dry and tight as they flake and peel, which is completely normal. There's a small risk of cold sore reactivation if you're prone to them, and occasionally colour can heal patchy or uneven.
Before your appointment:
- Book at least 4 weeks after any lip filler
- If you've ever had cold sores, get antiviral medication from your GP — take for 3 days before
- Exfoliate lips gently the week before
- Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior — it thins blood and increases bruising
- Come with clean, makeup-free lips
After your appointment:
- Apply healing balm 3 times daily — do not pick flakes
- No kissing for 3 days to avoid infection
- No spicy, salty or hot foods for 3 days
- Drink through a straw to keep lips dry
- No makeup on lips for 7-10 days until fully healed
- If prone to cold sores, continue antivirals for 3 days after
Do not book if:
- You have active cold sores or herpes simplex
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have diabetes or blood clotting disorders
- You take anticoagulant medication
- You have a history of keloid scarring
- You have eczema, psoriasis or impetigo on the lips
- You are undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy
- You have an autoimmune or immune-compromised condition
How it compares
✅ Compared with Lip Blush
- Primary purpose — Lip Blush Colour Boost tops up faded pigment to bring your existing lip colour back to life; Lip Blush creates new colour from scratch on virgin lips that have never been treated.
- Best for — Lip Blush Colour Boost suits you if you had lip blush 1-3 years ago and the colour has softened; Lip Blush suits anyone tired of pale, uneven, or 'disappearing' lip colour who wants a fresh start.
- Number of sessions — Lip Blush Colour Boost typically needs just one session, with an optional perfecting visit at 6 to 8 weeks; Lip Blush usually needs two sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart - the second is mandatory.
- Healing and appearance — Lip Blush Colour Boost brings 7 to 10 days of healing with swelling and tenderness first, then dry and flaky lips, colour can look patchy before the final result appears; Lip Blush brings 7 to 10 days of healing with significant swelling and very dark, intense colour at first, most people plan 3 to 5 days of social downtime.
- Choose Colour Boost if you already have lip blush and just need it refreshed; choose full Lip Blush if you've never had the treatment
✅ Compared with Lip Colour Neutralisation
- Primary purpose — Lip Blush Colour Boost brings your lip colour back to life without starting from scratch; Lip Colour Neutralisation transforms dark, uneven lips into a neutral base that finally takes colour beautifully.
- Best for — Lip Blush Colour Boost is for you if you had lip blush 1-3 years ago and the colour has softened, or you want to deepen or adjust your existing shade; Lip Colour Neutralisation is for anyone with naturally dark, cool-toned or unevenly pigmented lips, or people who have tried lip colour that never showed up.
- Number of sessions — Lip Blush Colour Boost needs just one session, with an optional perfecting visit at 6 to 8 weeks if the colour needs adjusting; Lip Colour Neutralisation needs a course of 2 to 3 sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart for full correction, then an annual colour boost to keep it fresh.
- What it cannot do — Lip Blush Colour Boost cannot darken or correct naturally dark lips; Lip Colour Neutralisation is not a quick refresh - it is a correction process for those starting from dark or uneven tone.
- Choose Colour Boost if your lips were previously neutralised or blushed and simply need colour refreshed; choose Lip Neutralisation if you have dark or uneven natural lip tone
✅ Compared with Revolax Lip Filler 1.1ml
- What it does — Lip Blush Colour Boost deposits pigment to restore or deepen your existing lip colour without adding size; 1.1ml Lip Filler adds actual volume, shape and border definition using hyaluronic acid gel.
- How long it lasts — Lip Blush Colour Boost typically lasts 12 to 36 months depending on your lifestyle and how your skin holds pigment; 1.1ml Lip Filler typically lasts six to twelve months, depending on how fast your body breaks it down.
- Reversibility — Lip Blush Colour Boost cannot be undone once the pigment is placed; 1.1ml Lip Filler can be dissolved with an enzyme if you are unhappy with the result.
- Healing time — Lip Blush Colour Boost needs 7 to 10 days of noticeable healing with swelling, tenderness, then dryness and flaking; 1.1ml Lip Filler has visible swelling for two to three days, sometimes with bruising, before settling.
- Choose Colour Boost if you want to restore colour without changing lip size, or cannot have fillers due to medical reasons; choose fillers if you want actual volume and structure
