Common questions
Is there any downtime?
You'll usually have some redness and sensitivity across your scalp for 24 to 48 hours, and the tiny puncture marks are visible for the first day. Most people carry on as normal but skip washing their hair and avoid tight hats for the first couple of days.
Does it hurt?
It's quite manageable — we put numbing cream on for 30 to 45 minutes beforehand, so most people feel pressure and vibration rather than anything sharp. Your scalp may feel tender and warm for a day or two after.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need a course of four to six sessions, spaced about two to four weeks apart. If you've got a wedding or a big event coming up, it's worth starting at least twelve to sixteen weeks beforehand so the full course is finished and results have time to show.
How long do the results last?
You'll usually notice your scalp feels healthier within one to two weeks, with visible changes in hair density building over three to six months. From there, results last with ongoing maintenance sessions every two to three months.
Are there any side effects?
It's normal to have redness, some pinpoint bleeding where the needles went in, and tenderness for 24 to 48 hours afterwards. You might also notice some dryness or flaking, and a temporary increase in shedding as follicles shift into a new growth cycle — this settles on its own.
