Common questions

Is there any downtime?

You'll have small bumps at the injection points for about an hour, and some people get a little bruise or tenderness for a day or two. Most people go straight back to work or their normal day.

Does it hurt?

It's quite manageable — the needle is fine and the injection goes into the muscle rather than near bone, so most people describe it as a brief dull ache rather than anything sharp. Ice helps if you want it.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people need just one session, then they repeat every four to six months when the effect starts to wear off. If you have a wedding or big event coming up, book at least six weeks beforehand so the slimming has time to show.

How long do the results last?

You'll usually notice grinding relief within a few days, and the jaw slimming shows properly at about four to six weeks. From there it typically lasts four to six months before the muscle gradually builds back up.

Are there any side effects?

It's normal to have some tenderness, a headache, or a small bruise afterwards, and your jaw may feel tired when you chew for the first week or two. Rarely the smile can look slightly uneven if the toxin spreads, but this settles. Very rarely there can be eyelid drooping, difficulty swallowing, or speech changes — these need urgent medical attention.
